Bachmann Yachts engaged in major refit of a classic yacht.

Gary Le Cras, Bachmann’s Head of Yachting reports from the shipyard in Pula, Croatia where the company has been contracted by a client to carry out a condition survey and pre-refit flagging exercise on a 1950 built, 45 metre steel yacht.

The contractual package represents the full breadth of Bachmann Yachts service offer, including all the formalities, documentation and class/flag compliance procedures. Gary says he’s happy to be working alongside Mark Robinson of MRMC Superyacht Surveys.

MRMC provide inspection, pre-purchase and condition surveys for vessels over 18 metres (to unlimited tonnages) for potential purchasers and vendors.

Together with Bachmann Yachts they will be providing independent assessments to gauge condition, operation, compliance, levels of safety, areas of operation, competence and support structure for maintaining the important asset values of such a superyacht.

The Bachmann Group have unquestionable previous experience with classic yachts having been contracted for the management of the renowned fully converted 64 metre luxury superyacht La Sultana, a vessel that was built in 1962 and originally commissioned as a Russian spy ship, before undergoing a 7 year extensive refit by her owners, the La Sultana Hotel Group, and becoming available as a charter yacht.
