The five-day Palma Superyacht Show came to a close on Monday 2nd May amidst wide recognition that the event had again been a great success.

The PSS which runs jointly alongside the long established Boatshow Palma is now in it's fourth year, and has become very well established in the Nautical calendar. Organised jointly by the Minister for Employment and the Balearic Yacht Brokers Association (BYBA) the overall event expanded on the previous year with some 220 exhibitors, 170 boats on display, and an estimated visitor footfall of 35,000.

With 64 superyachts lined up on the dock (47 sailing yachts and 17 motor yachts) the show now represents the largest selection of sailing superyachts in the world. Bachmann Yachts were very comfortable in such surroundings where clients sought advice from them on their range of maritime services from yacht management and corporate structuring, through to crew recruitment and payroll services.

Gary Le Cras who heads up Bachmann's Yachting Division commented, "for many years we have worked with and supported brokers and yacht managers in Mallorca, and this was reflected by the number of discussions we had with personnel from these types of companies throughout the show. Indeed, Bachmann were the only providers offering such a complete service that were there with a stand from start to finish."

"Our presence undeniably added depth and breadth of knowledge that was available at the show, and we were often sought out to add general commentary in conversations between brokers and potential buyers."

Gary also pointed out that numerous yachts are berthed in and around the ports and marinas in Mallorca which Bachmann have provided services to in various ways over the years. Therefore, "being on hand in Palma for a whole week gave Captains an opportunity to come by and see us to check on latest rules and regulations, and to search through our pool of available crew as they staff up for the coming season " he said.

The Bachmann Yachts staff also had several meetings with existing owners and refit firms, with those owners looking to ensure that their upcoming refits and works are structured efficiently, and also how the crew should be managed as they become temporarily land based.
